Julie Lewis, President, CEO and Founder

Julie has over 35 years of experience working in the high technology industry. Prior to founding Digital Mountain, Julie worked at VERITAS Software (now Symantec) with next-generation storage, security and search companies. At VERITAS, she managed operations for new product releases across sales, marketing, product management, legal, engineering and customer support. Before joining VERITAS, Julie worked in the venture capital and investment banking industries in both the Silicon Valley and Boston areas focusing on the Internet Infrastructure, security and software sectors. In addition, Julie worked for two of the Big 4 accounting firms doing financial and IT auditing, as well as M&A due diligence as a CPA. She also worked for Applied Magnetics, a publicly traded provider of disk and tape drive components. Julie earned an MBA under fellowship from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and a BA in both Business Economics and Sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She is a member of the High Tech Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), National Association of Litigation Support Managers (NALSM), Sedona Conference’s Working Group on E-mail Management and Archiving, Cloud Security Alliance and has received her EnCE (Encase Certification in Computer Forensics). Julie is founding Co-Chair of the Silicon Valley Chapter of Women in eDiscovery.

David Dang, Director, Data Discovery Solutions

David has over 35 years of experience in security products, file systems and IT-enabled services. Prior to joining Digital Mountain, David was Senior Technical Support Lead of Network and Endpoint Security for Symantec. He served as a Senior Network Security Technologist for Sygate Technologies prior to Symantec’s acquisition. Before Sygate, David worked in a technical operations role at Starr Technologies. He also worked over 10 years at Santa Cruz Operation (SCO), a leader in Unix-based operating systems, holding various positions in Technical Support, Engineering Services and Professional Services. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of California at Santa Cruz. David is a member of the High Tech Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA).

Chris Beeson, Director, Digital Forensics

Chris has over 25 years of experience conducting digital forensic examinations in both civil and criminal matters. Prior to joining Digital Mountain, Chris worked for the FBI for over 20 years as a Supervisory Special Agent and Special Agent. During his career at the FBI, Chris sought and obtained laboratory accreditation, was responsible for day-to-day operations, supervised personnel and was an instructor and mentor. He has performed hundreds of digital forensic examinations and provided expert testimony in multiple federal trials. Chris is a SANS/GIAC Certified Forensics Examiner, AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE) and previously obtained many certifications from the FBI for Windows, Unix/Linux, Apple/MAC/iOS and cell phones. He has obtained more than 1,000 hours of computer and lecture-based training. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the California State University and is a member of the High Tech Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA).

Alan Lee, Manager, Digital Forensics

Alan has over 30 years of investigative experience and specializes in conducting digital forensic examinations for both civil and criminal matters. Before joining Digital Mountain, Alan served as a Sergeant with the San Jose Police Department, holding positions in the High Technology Crime Unit, Narcotics Unit, Internal Affairs Unit, and the Homicide/Crime Scene Unit. He also served as the Deputy Lab Director at the Silicon Valley Regional Computer Forensic Lab. After 26 years with the San Jose Police Department, Alan transitioned to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office where he worked at the Santa Clara County Crime Lab as the Digital Forensics Technical Lead. He also shared his expertise as a Computer Forensic Adjunct Instructor at the College of San Mateo for 6 years. Proficient in examining all things digital, Alan has examined thousands of devices, including computers, mobile phones, vehicles, and IoT devices and has testified as an expert witness in Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Alameda County Superior Courts. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from San Jose State University and is a member of the International Association of Crime Investigator Specialists (IACIS) and the High Tech Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA).

John Christiansen, Head of Sales

John has been in the legal discovery space for over 30 years. The first half of his career was spent in sales and sales management roles working for eDiscovery software providers. The second part of his career has been with eDiscovery service providers spanning services including information governance, legal hold, forensics and collections, processing and hosting, AI and analytics, and managed document review. John has obtained a variety of certifications with Relativity, RelativityOne, Reveal, and Brainspace. He has also participated in the Sedona Conference and is a past member of the California State Bar Executive Committee for the Law Practice Management and Technology section, as well as being a published author and speaker. John holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Political Science and Business Administration from the University of Iowa.

Jeane Schiller, Accounting Manager

Jeane has over 30 years of experience in accounting and financial operations.  Prior to joining Digital Mountain, Jeane worked as a Controller for Universal Coatings, Caliber Contracting, and the Walton Family Industries, a roofing construction, general contractor, and property management company, respectively.   She also worked as a Controller for Planet Solar, a solar panel and home battery installation company.   Jeane managed and implemented the monthly accounting close, supervised Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, maintained and analyzed investment, cash, credit cards, payroll, annual budgets, and financial reports.  She also worked as a Senior Accountant for Payroll People, a payroll processing and benefits company and as an Accounting Supervisor for a property management company. Prior to that, Jeane worked as a Corporate Accountant for two home builders.   She earned a BA in Business Economics with an Accounting Emphasis from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Josip Markovic, Discovery Project Manager

Josip has over 30 years of experience in information technology and ESI processing and handling. He was one of the founding members in two successful startups from where he brings an extensive knowledge in business operations, financial accounting and a complete infrastructure setup and maintenance. Prior to joining Digital Mountain, Josip managed EDOCS, LLC for over 14 years, and spent four years performing various roles at IKON Office Solutions. Josip attended the University of Sarajevo, Mechanical Faculty in Zenica, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, majoring in Structural Engineering.

Cynthia Navarro, Social Media Analyst & Recruiting

Cynthia specializes in Social Media Investigations and recruiting digital forensics and cybersecurity professionals. Prior to joining Digital Mountain, she worked over the last 30 years for various Silicon Valley companies including Palm-HP, Adobe Systems, One-Red LLC as well has her own company. Cynthia has provided services for open source, IP licensing, fraud, business intelligence, project management, and brand protection investigations. She also provides training for law enforcement and corporate investigators. Cynthia received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University Hayward. She has served as an officer numerous times with the High Technology Crime Investigation Association both locally and internationally, as well as is an active participant in the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Women in eDiscovery and Women in Security.
